Ewan McGregor Explains `I Love You Phillip Morris` Release Delay
Scottish movie star Ewan McGregor has explained the delay of his new movie, "I Love You Phillip Morris" - Disney bosses didn`t want young film fans thinking their Ebenezer Scrooge was gay. The film, in which McGregor and Jim Carrey play lovers, was initially slated for release in 2009, but movie bosses behind the "A Christmas Carol" blockbuster feared Carrey`s portrayal of a gay man would confuse their audience, according to the Scot.
McGregor tells the new issue of Out magazine, "There was talk that Disney fended off the release until after `A Christmas Carol` came out. They didn`t want kids thinking Ebenezer Scrooge was a bender."
"I Love You Phillip Morris", which was a sensation at last year`s in January 2009 Sundance Film Festival in Utah, will finally hit cinemas at the end of March. Other artists who join Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey in cast ensemble included Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, Jessica Heap and David Jensen.
